Stephanie Toups – Mica Mines Rely on Child Labor
Stephanie Toups is a consumer advocate professional, whose research focuses mainly on the personal care industry. Today she talks with us about recent news of children working in mines in Madagascar. Some as young as the age of four. Mica is used in make-up to add shimmer and sparkle, and electronics for its ability to transmit electric force without overheating. These children are working long hours in extremely poorly ventilated makeshift mines, and it is now being exposed.
How can you do your part to take a stand? Follow along with us. We will be providing information in our newsletter and Stephanie will be following up about this issue.
