Greg Lukianoff, co-author of The Coddling of the American Mind joins us again to discuss points in his book. Are we coddling our children so much that they can’t deal with every day life and normal society demands? For example, Lukianoff delves into the negative impact social media is having on our kids and their overall self-image. Learn more about Lukianoff from a great article in The Atlantic.
It’s also Pet Segment Day with Maura Davies of the SPCA of North Texas. She tells us how to keep our pets safe this holiday season. The SPCA has one tip that our pets aren’t happy about – no table scraps. Traditional holiday meals include salt, sugar and other ingredients that can wreak havoc on digestive systems. Have some healthy pet treats on hand so your furry friend can enjoy the festivities along with the family.
Shawn Wells tells us about a new trend for a better night’s sleep, Sleep Tape. You actually tape your mouth shut and slowly train your brain to breath through your nose when sleeping. The theory is that you’ll have a much more rested night’s sleep, and can even sleep less with the same benefit of longer hours. Shawn will get back to us on his results.
Everyone have a safe and wonderful holiday!
