Today we talk with V Capaldi about the process of a quarterly check-in with yourself. Then, we continue with Mo Brossette on the topic of negations and affirmations.
Quarterly Check-In With V Capaldi
V Capaldi is the PaleoBOSS Lady. She has a masters degree in psychology and is a sought-after speaker. V considers herself a miracle since self-healing from multiple sclerosis in 2012 using food and movement as medicine. Today we talk with her about what she calls a “quarterly check-in.” This is something that V does with herself to keep tabs on her progress toward goals, achievements, and even track her setbacks. A lot of times after the New Year around March or so, our original resolutions may have fizzled. This occurs because, to put it simply, life happens. So, V says that doing this quarterly check-in keeps her on top of herself.
In doing this check-in, V talks about the importance of starting out by celebrating your successes and giving yourself a pat-on-the-back. Then she says to look closely at the goals you may have strayed from and figure out how to get back on track. Also, each quarter you may find yourself with new goals and desires, so this is a good time to make plans on how to reach them. Listen in to hear all about this with one of our favorite people, V Capaldi.
Negations and Affirmations with Mo Brossette
Mo Brossette is an expert on human behavior, mindset, movement, and nutrition. He has been in the health and fitness industry for over 24 years, and is currently the Director of Mindset and Nutrition at The Adaptive Training Foundation. Today we continue our talk with him about self-talk, and we focus specifically on negations and affirmations.
This topic goes right along with what V talks about, because it is all centered around keeping yourself in check. By allowing yourself to engage in positive and affirming self-talk, you are more likely to reach those higher reaching goals. Negations are negative self-talk, which Mo tells us most of the time come from a place of fear. Listen in to hear what Mo says about this and how you can work on your own self-talk.
