The Founder and President of Mercy For Animals, Nathan Runkle is here to talk about his new book releasing September 12th, Mercy For Animals: One Man’s Quest to Inspire Compassion and Improve the Lives of Farm Animals.
Dr. Mike Fenster talks about the benefits of the Mediterranean diet.
He sites a study finding those consuming a Mediterranean-style diet had significantly decreased levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), a marker of generalized inflammation. CRP is also associated with such inflammatory conditions as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and many other disabilities and diseases. All of these can be linked with the consumptive patterns of today’s modern society. The researchers also found that participants with osteoporosis following the diet had a lower rate of bone loss than those not following the diet.
