Erik Hastings - Mercy For Animals #1268

Happy Hump Day

Happy Hump Day from One Life Radio! Today we have great show. Erik Hastings from one of our favorite nonprofit groups, Mercy For Animals, stops by to discuss high speed chicken slaughterhouse lines.

Mercy For Animals

Erik Hastings used to be a hunter and avid meat consumer. Erik works for Mercy For Animals as an undercover investigator and worked his way up to Senior Investigations Specialist for U.S. operations. On Erik's latest investigation for Mercy For Animals, he exposed the atrocities happening in high-speed slaughterhouses via hidden cameras. The FDA allows 175 birds to be killed each minute, how disgusting! Also per the FDA, "free range" doesn't always mean "free range." Erik and Mercy For Animals are working towards having congress to not allow high-speed slaughter, especially amongst a pandemic.Erik wants us to know that chickens are surprisingly smart and kind. Chickens play like cats and dogs in groups! Chickens can even play fetch! For more information on Mercy For Animals fight to end high-speed slaughter of poultry, check out their website and consider donating to their cause!
