Kip Watson, autumn warren Connolly

Happy Monday!

Boy, our team is ready for Thanksgiving! Whether you celebrate with a traditional turkey like Junior does, or with a Tofurky or Italian food, the reason for celebrating is the same, being together! We have a great show in store for you today with One Life Radio alumni Kip Watson on at the half! First up, we have Autumn Warren Connolly talking about affirmations, so let's get started!

Autumn Warren Connolly

Autumn Connolly lives in the sky islands of Arizona with her three kiddos and animal babies. She is the creator of Anvil Traditional Healing, a company dedicated to restoring microbiome health through diet. Affirmations

Autumn and Bernadette love affirmations! Many of us have negative thoughts like these, sometimes frequently. When we think like this, our confidence, mood and outlook can become negative, too. Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often, and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes. You might consider affirmations to be unrealistic "wishful thinking." But try looking at positive affirmations this way: many of us do repetitive exercises to improve our physical health, and affirmations are like exercises for our mind and outlook. Autumn likes to make her affirmations as specific to her own situations as possible, because the more specific, the more likely your affirmation will become affirmed.

Trauma and Teletherapy

Online therapy has become much bigger during this pandemic! Online therapy can be traumatic if the person has trauma's regarding attachment issues. In person therapy is great for trust, focus, and insurance coverage questions. But, with the global pandemic, insurance coverage has become quite broad regardless if the therapy is in person or via video-call. There are some great advantages for online therapy too! convenience, cost, and accessibility all obviously factor in. A lesser known advantage to online therapy is reduced stigma. Some people who have never been to therapy before sometimes have a preconceived idea of therapy with a couch and a Doctor with a notepad. Online therapy allows the patient to find their own comfortable safe space before logging on to their session.Above all else, treat your body well. Food is fuel, so only eat the good stuff! Take breaks and allow and honor yourself to take yourself away from stressful situations and just take a walk.
