Matt Peale, Tina Bernet allen, tips and tricks

Happy Wednesday!

Junior and Bernadette talk about seasonal effectiveness disorder! Dallas is a little gloomy today, so it is trying to affect our energies, but we won't let it! We are going to pour positivity through your speakers today! We have a great show today with Matt Peale on at the half! But first up, we have fitness expert Tina Bernet Allen on talking about maintaining your health through the holidays! So let's get started!

How to Maintain Your Health & Wellness During A Pandemic & Holiday Season

Try to Exercise at least 3-4 days a week and just keep active! Weight training is most important, but any kind of exercise or activity is beneficial! Consistency is the key. Focus on consistency in a healthy nutrition plan while allowing yourself to still enjoy the occasional holiday “festivities.” Make sure you’re getting plenty of sleep and sleep in a cold environment. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated. Take leisurely walks or cycle outdoors. If you have lost your motivation to exercise and eat healthy because of the stress of the pandemic and/or the holidays, believe that a little change can lead to more change and get you back on track.

Matt Peale

Matt is a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer in his home state of Louisiana, he co-founded Movement Academy; developing a PE curriculum and exercise program for seniors. He also hosted the Boomers Lifestyle Network Health & Fitness Show on the New Orleans Talk Network. He is the author of The Athlete In The Game Of Life: Stretch, Strengthen, Live, And Thrive.

Is Working From Home Giving You Chronic Pain?

Working from home is giving us chronic pain! When we are working at our computers or phones for long periods of time, we hunch our backs and create tension headaches too! While we are talking about working from home, we cant forget students right now too! Many colleges around the country have started school all online via zoom classrooms, making students sit at their computers even more than they did when class was in person! We need to stop sitting around and get up and move! It is super crucial for older people who are already susceptible to falling and muscle atrophy to get up and move.Your kinetic checkpoints are just another name for your joints! Start with your knees and your ankles. If you have tightness in your knees, now, when you do a squat, you are put into a dangerous position! Check in with your body whenever you start to feel pain. You body will tell you all the answers you need.
