Happy Furry Friday!

We have a great show in store for you all on Furry Friday! We are proud to announce our partnership with Castor & Pollux! As the leader and maker of America’s #1 organic pet food, Castor & Pollux has set a new standard with the most comprehensive portfolio of purposeful pet food. We have Marc Peralta of Best Friends Animal Society and Zen Honeycutt from Moms Across America. So, let's get started!

Marc Peralta

Marc Peralta is the Senior Director of National Mission Advancement for Best Friends Animal Society. Best Friends is a leading national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. In addition to running lifesaving programs in partnership with nearly 3,000 animal welfare groups, Best Friends has regional centers across the country and operate the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals. Prior to joining Best Friends, Marc served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as interim CEO for the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The mission of Best Friends Animal Society is to end the existence of homeless pets. They want to save them all by spaying and neutering and preventing more unnecessary animals onto the planet. Housing and economic problems that you see on the news neglect to include the statistics on the animals as well. If a family loses their home, they lose their animals as well. Fostering is the future! Fostering helped Best Friends Animal Society pull through last year. Best Friends is knows that if they truly want to save them all, they have to bring in all sections of the community, regardless of SES. A lot of shelters only focus on dogs. That is not a bad thing, but we as animal lovers need to bring more cat lovers into the mix!

Zen Honeycutt and Moms Across America

Zen Honeycutt is an activist, speaker, author, and the founder and director of Moms Across America, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and empower mothers and others with actions and solutions to create healthy communities. While heading Moms Across America, Zen initiated the first testing for glyphosate in tap water, breast milk, and urine and spearheaded the non-profit’s successful petition to Costco to remove Roundup from their shelves. She is the author of “UNSTOPPABLE: Transforming Sickness and Struggle into Triumph, Empowerment And A Celebration of Community.”

Moms Across America and 2021

No matter who is in office, we at Moms Across America are committed to taking actions to protect our food supply and health of our families. Our food supply is in jeopardy of becoming even more toxic than it has been over the past decade. Biden's pick for head of the USDA, Tom Vilsack is a not surprising, but is a terrible idea. Vilsack is a staunch supporter of GMOs and is responsible for supporting the contamination of the entire food supply with GMOs and toxins while he held this position during the Obama administration. It's time for a change. Bernadette and Zen agree that we have to get rid of lobbyists. We need to break free of the ownership that has taken over.Bernadette won't eat anything that is genetically modified. Science is great, but both Zen and Bernadette agree that science doesn't belong in our food. Agrochemicals are also taking over alongside GMO. Visit Zen's blog for more information. If you want to start avoiding GMO's, stay away from corn, soybeans, and sugar. The majority of GMOs exist in those products.
