  • What is blood flow restriction?a. A technique to restrict blood flow to the veins but not the arteriesb. You basically trap blood in the targeted muscle (pump)c. Causes lactic acid to get trapped in the muscle
  • What is the benefit of using this technique in lifting?a. Less stress on the jointsb. Increase cell swelling/ increase muscle sizec. Increase strength after an injury/ rehabilitation
  • How do you do it?a. Wrap the top portion of your bicep, triceps, or quads with knee wraps or a tourniquet band, tighten to a 7 out of 10 (if you feel numbness it is to tight).b. Use a weight that is 20-40% of one rep max. Do as many reps as you can squeezing the heck out of the muscle you are focused on.c. Rest for 30 seconds, do 3 sets
