COVID-19 Puppy Scams
Davies warns us against a recent surge of puppy scams during COVID-19. Beware of ads you find in the newspaper or in the mail. Many of these are scam artists who are just trying to get you to send them money. Sadly, your pet never arrives. The best way to avoid these scams? ADOPT! Visit spca.org and find your next furry friend. They will be forever grateful and you will feel great knowing you saved a life.
"Fixing" Ourselves - Good or Bad?
Next, Sam Morris explains why “fixing” ourselves may be stopping us from living our best life. When we fix ourselves, we’re in the mindset that we’re broken. This is never the case. The mindset that we’re broken starts at childhood. Our teachers graded us on what we got wrong, not right. So, we began to grade ourselves internally, leading to a drive to fix what we thought was wrong about ourselves.Morris isn't saying that self improvement is bad. Think of it as improving or enhancing, instead of fixing. The key is learning to love ourselves as we are. When we love ourselves, it's easier to be disciplined in regard to our health and well-being.Morris recommends the book, "Love Yourself Like your Life Depends Upon it" by Kamal Ravikant as a great read on self-love.
