FURRY FRIDAY Kirsten Peek - Humane Society of the United States Beagle Rescue #1814
Happy Furry Friday everyone! We have Kirsten Peek from the Humane Society of the United States joining us today to tell us all about their biggest rescue in history currently underway in Virginia. Approximately 4,000 beagles are being transported from a mass breeding facility, Envigo, who bred the dogs specifically for use in laboratory experiments. It was a long battle, but now these dogs have a furever home in their future! Kirsten Peek is the public information office for the Humane Society of the United States’ animal rescue team. She deploys with the rescue team during large-scale cruelty cases and disasters. Kirsten previously worked as a journalist, and now lives in Washington DC with her dog, Flea, and several foster animals.
