Autumn Connolly on One Life Radio

It's Mantra Monday with Autumn Connolly. Autumn is a wealth of information, and we cover a lot today; raised garden beds, the impact of food preservatives on the body and manifesting self love. And, we always love hearing Connolly sing one of her amazing mantras. Today's is meant to Balance Brain Hemispheres.

MANTRA TO BALANCE BRAIN HEMISPHERES

We're getting the week started right with a mantra. Follow along, or bookmark and return any time you need a boost. The mantra is GOBINDAY MUKANDAY (Pronounced: GO-BIN-DAY MOO-KAHN-DAY)

This means "Destroying, creating, nameless, desireless". Singing this chant purifies your magnetic field, eliminates karmic blocks and brings compassion and patience.

We're learning about raised garden beds next. These are gardens made from wood or steel that are higher off the ground than a traditional garden. A standard size is around 6' x 2'. They're super practical because you can choose pre-fertilized soil, or just use compost. You can purchase a raised bed at any home store. Or, she layers the bottom with rocks and branches for drainage, then compost and straw. Her garden is over two feet off the ground, which helps to keep animals out. Listen to the interview for other tips from Autumn on making your own raised garden.

IMPACT OF FOOD PRESERVATIVES ON THE BODY

Connolly says that preservatives wreak havoc on our system. They preserve food because they are anti-bacterial, meaning they kill the bacteria that make food go bad. When you ingest them, you are killing off bad bacteria, but you're also killing your good gut bacteria that helps overall immunity. Preservatives cause inflammation in the body, which can affect health in a number of ways. If you eat prepackaged snack foods every now and then, Connolly says that moderation is OK.

Sadly, the foods with the most preservatives are marketed to children. These foods are quick and easy, but the negative health effects should outweigh convenience. There are several natural preservatives like salt, sugar, lemon juice and vinegar. Look for packaged foods with these types of natural preservatives. Just read the label to see what they use. The EWG is an amazing resource. Check our their informative list of preservatives to avoid.

HOW TO MANIFEST SELF LOVE

What is self love? It's when you love yourself completely, mistakes and flaws included. To help with self love and self acceptance, Connolly repeats the same mantra every morning. She says it's an easy way to get in a place of self-love. Repeat this mantra every morning or when you've had a bad day or just aren't feeling your best.I am happy and complete within me.

Autumn Connolly lives in the sky islands of Arizona with her three kiddos and animal babies.
