Neurohealth and REDs #1146

Neurohealth on One Life RadioToday we talk with Dr. Cris Wohlgehagen and Jill Lane regarding our neurohealth and the dangers of REDs.Dr. Wohlgehagen discusses how we can be proactive with our neurohealth by focusing on the healthy parts of our brains to ultimately become our best self. For instance, our brain likes consistency. So, it's beneficial to stick to a consistent healthy diet, an exercise schedule and the same bedtime with a good amount of sleep every night. Being proactive with our brain health may prevent dementia when not related to genetics. Wohlgehagen says the key to brain health is balance, but don't beat yourself up if you splurge on holiday treats. Do the best you can to get back on track to focus on a healthy body, mind and spirit.Jill Lane tells us about REDs (Relative Energy Deficiency) which is essentially not having enough nutrients in our body. REDs can lead to brittle bones, sporadic periods, mental instability and more. Lane says we all need to be doing these three things at all times to stay healthy and deter the onset of REDs; stay hydrated, get enough protein and eat more plants. It's also Day 2 of our Five Days of Christmas Giveaway!
