What is Psilocybin?
What are the health benefits of Psilocybin?
Is there research out there on Psilocybin and depression?
Do you think that treating depression with Psilocybin will become a common practice as more research comes out?
It is hard to say since it is still classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance in the United States. If you are familiar with the famous neuroscientist Sam Harris, he talks about the war on drugs. A mistake was made long ago when psychedelic drugs like psilocybin were termed "drugs" and put into the same category as drugs like cocaine and crystal meth. This has given these compounds a negative association despite all of the health benefits that can be associated with them. This is the same reason why not everyone has bought into the medical marijuana idea. We will not be able to consider these substances as common therapeutic approaches until we can think intuitively about them and recognize their therapeutic potential and lower risk of developing addiction.
There are some risks though, correct?
Correct. Some people can have "bad trips", some people can take too much and get sick, and there's the concern of your source for it not being legitimate and getting something in your system that is not safe. Overall though, the risks are not even close to the schedule 1 drugs like cocaine, meth, and heroine. But steroids are put in that same category as well and the risks with those are not anywhere near as perilous either. What you can see is that there's a business of enforcement around these "drugs" and there's pharmaceuticals from the medical industry that would be greatly threatened by them not being illegal.Stephanie Toups gives us the top 10 products for our best survival kits!
