Nov 7th 2017 - Creating the Holidays - Closet Therapy
For many, the holidays are more filled with stress and anxiety than wonder and joy. People are stuck having to relive over and over again year after year, being in toxic environments out of obligation and end up miserable. Robin Perry Braun gives us some tips on how to get out of the routine holiday rut and begin creating the holidays.
- Start practicing mindfulness, make point this year of being an observer. Who triggers me and why? Why do I feel powerless to change this?
- Practice the power of quantum physics and learn to imagine what it would feel like to enjoy being with these people.
- Pick the points out about the holiday that you really enjoy. Focus on how those points make you feel.
- If losses are triggered to ruminate, we can be stuck in trauma. Focus on the way holidays felt before the loss
- How can you affect the plans to not feel helpless. Can you change the conversation so you do not have to do what others want you to do out of obligation.
