Today we talk with Sadrah Schadel about plant-based meat alternatives and with Courtney Garza about social media vs. reality.
Plant-Based Meat Alternatives
People are starting to open their eyes to a plant-based diet. This does not mean vegan, this just means making the majority of your diet come from plants. We could all use more fruits and vegetables, anyways. Sadrah Schadel is the co-founder at No Evil Foods. She was seeking an alternative to laboratory created vegetarian mystery meats and the harsh realities of factory farming. They make small batch plant meats from scratch and by hand, updating a centuries old tradition to create powerful and innovative plant-based proteins. And they do it all with organic & non-GMO ingredients.Today we talk with her about why a plant-based diet is getting more popular, and what it's benefits include. She also talks about her story creating No Evil Foods, and the passion behind it. Then she gives us some great recipes, which you can get right here.
Social Media vs. Reality
Courtney Garza is a leader in the vegan community. She is the Editor in Chief for VEGWORLD Magazine, co-founder of Sprinkles Creative, and a social media influencer. She talks with us about how social media can skew our perception of someones reality. By just looking at someones social media, we see a perfect life. Pictures are staged, filtered, and all around not their reality. Courtney talks about how it is her normal to eat cold food, because of the time it takes to get the perfect picture. She also talks about her insta-boyfriend, who knows it's his job to get all the right angles. This just simply isn't real life at all.Social media has created unattainable life goals. Little girls and boys are looking up to icons and "influencers" and aspiring to be like them, when their social media probably shows a small fraction of their reality. This is setting our culture up for failure. The realness of reality is no longer acceptable. But not for Courtney. She has decided to ditch the filters, and just be her. She aspires to be an influencer with something to influence that's actually attainable. Listen in to hear all about this!
