Your Body in Balance

In today’s show we talk with Dr. Neal Barnard about his new book, Your Body in Balance. Then we talk with Shellie Gardner about how to build processes to build a better life. Also in studio with us is Katherine Lawrence, owner of Food Saved Me.

Your Body In Balance by Neal Barnard, MD

Our hormones play a much bigger role in the state of our health than most of us realize. So many women struggle with excruciating menstrual pain, and they believe that’s simply their “normal.” Dr. Barnard shares the science behind how common hormone-related conditions can be affected by and improved by simple diet changes. Your Body in Balance is available starting Feb. 4, 2020.

  • Dr. Neal Barnard is president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, founder of the Barnard Medical Center, an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has written more than 19 books on nutrition and health. His federally funded diabetes research revolutionized the nutritional approaches to type 2 diabetes, and he now aims to empower readers with life-changing information on hormones and health.

Build Processes to Build a Better Life

Shellie Gardner joins us today to talk about how some small processes are important to building an overall “better” life. This applies to both family and home life, and in business. As far as at home – you can teach your children how to properly do laundry (and put it away). Or, teach them how to cook a healthy meal, go grocery shopping, manage their money, etc. And in business, it is things like creating a detailed SOP (standard operating procedure) in case someone leaves the company who operates an important role. There always needs to be guidelines and rules that are easily passed down to someone else, that way business goes on as usual.

  • Shellie Gardner has her master’s in Electrical Engineering and is the owner Christmas Light Source.
