Hello, World!

Dr. Lori Whatley

Dr. Lori Whatley is a clinical psychologist and relational therapist who specializes in the effects of excessive digital device usage. Dr. Whatley has over 25 years of clinical experience and has specialized in digital device usage for the past 10 years. Her latest book “Connected & Engaged: How to Manage Digital Distractions and Reconnect with the World Around You” takes a look at the toll excessive digital device usage has on our lives—and what we can do about it.

Finding Joy and Well-Being For The Entire Family

Everyone wants an absence of chaos. We have to find joy in the small things in life. If you have ever traveled to countries that are not as fortunate as us, you notice the difference int he children. Dr. Lori Whatley says these children find joy in things smaller than the children here in the US do. Take pleasure in the simple things! If you see a cute potted plant that you can afford, buy it and put it in your home. Decorate the tree with your family, but remember that everything is difference for every individual. We need to be conscious of our behaviors. Internal peace can only be achieved with consciousness of happiness. Therapy is a great way to get to know yourself, and mindfulness is a great way to learn to know yourself.

Dewone Bennett

Dewone Bennett is a Licensed Professional Counselor with two masters degrees and over 12 years of counseling experience. He currently has his own practice, Dewone Bennett Counseling in Dallas, TX. He believes that the key to mental and behavioral success is the ability to master self-awareness and emotional control.

What Are You Willing To Sacrifice For Your Relationships?

In relationships, when you want something you have to be able to sacrifice something for your partner. For both people to win, one person has to succumb to the other. In a healthy relationship, you mist be willing to sacrifice your time. Time is the most valuable currency. Money is one of the biggest predictors of poor relationships. A lot of people don't want to talk about money, and that will hurt them in the long run. You need to talk to your partner about money, as hard as it may be. Sharing the same values with your partner is the most important. Share hobbies, values, and goals and you should have a healthy relationship.
