So let’s get started with Patti Dawson!

Patti Dawson

Dallas DogRRR is a group of dedicated, animal loving volunteers who help rescue dogs in the South East Dallas area. Patti started volunteering with Dallas DogRRR in 2014 and began running the operations in January of 2016. When she’s not rescuing animals, Patti is a behavior specialist, wife and mom.

Dallas DogRRR

Patti is fighting to end animal neglect. Their initiative is to give people a resource for their pets. Constantly pushing for the better of the pet, including pushing at a legislative level. Dallas Dogrrr has been experiencing such a high level of rescues that they struggle to maintain DogRRR. She says some months are good, but some the donations can barely cover the amount of dogs they care for.Patty shares a heartbreaking story of finding an emaciated dog and taking her in for initial recovery, though she shortly passed over the rainbow bridge. The dog is product mis-ownership, neglect, and sheer evil. How can pet owners find assistance in caring for an animal correctly? Patti gives resources like ASPCA or even the looking for a pro-bono vet. She even tells of grants for pets who have illness like cancer to help assist the owners for proper care. She reassures that not all shelter euthanize and that they will help recover the dog and find it a better home.

Stacy Sutton Kerby

Stacy’s tenure with Texas Humane Legislation Network, or THLN, began in 2012 with fundraising and grassroots organizing. Since then, Stacy has worn several hats for THLN, including Volunteer Coordinator, Director of Operations, and Legislative Liaison. Stacy served as THLN’s Interim Executive Director in 2015 when they successfully passed HB 593 – the Mandatory Canine Encounter Training Law. In 2019, Stacy launched Safekeeping – a program supporting the pets of people exiting crises. She received her Master’s in Public Affairs from the LBJ School in August 2019, and returned to THLN in 2020 as the Director of Government relations. Stacy volunteers in her local community with the Austin Humane Society and PALS – a program supporting the pets of Meals On Wheels clients.

Puppies Are Not Presents

An animal is a long term commitment. Please never gift an animal! You are gifting a responsibility. When you also gift an animal to a child, they can not always understand how much that animal costs, and the responsibilities behind it. And when the animal doesn’t work out, and the animal is removed from the home, the child sees the animal as disposable. Animals are not disposable. Give the gift of a stuffed animal that the little kid in your life can keep for years and years!

Texas Humane Legislation Network Fight To Abolish Puppy Mills In Texas

We must remind Texas legislators of the importance of this Program. Elimination of the Program means zero regulations for those profiting off puppies. The absence of even the most basic minimum care standards will lead to horrific puppy mills. This will be causing thousands of dogs and cats will suffer a lifetime of neglect. THLN’s goals are to protect this incredibly important Program and then fix the existing loopholes to strengthen it. NOW is the time for action. Please help us change the fate of thousands of animals in commercial breeding facilities by signing and sharing our Petition today. When you sign our Petition, your state representative and state senator will know you support the regulation of large-scale animal breeding facilities. To ensure the Petition’s validity and efficiency, please include your full address so we can notify your state senator and representative of your support.

Brad Aronson

Brad Aronson is an author, entrepreneur, tech startup investor and mentor. His entrepreneurial ventures began in junior high when he shoveling snow, selling iced tea at baseball games and delivering sodas at summer camp.Brad’s first venture out of college, i-FRONTIER, grew into one of the largest and top rated digital ad agencies in the US.He serves as Board President of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region, as well as Hopeworks ‘N Camden. A program providing tech training, jobs, housing, coaching and support to young people in one of America’s poorest cities. Brad is the author of the book we’re talking about today, HumanKind: Changing the World One Small Act At a Time.Brad started writing HumanKind five years ago, and coincidentally had his book be released during the beginning of the global pandemic. Instead of fretting, Brad decided that the book coming out in such a hard time was the best for everyone! We need kindness all the time, but especially when the media is negative story after negative story.

HumanKind For The Holidays

Brad’s familie's holiday is really different this year. Due to the pandemic, Brad is sending out “fun baskets” to all hai family members that they can enjoy together over zoom! Have you ever mixed Christmas and Hanukkah? Brad and his family have! And they got Hanumas! One of brad’s favorite ways to give back is through an organization called “One Simple Wish.” You can fill a foster child’s wish by donating as little as a dollar! Please consider going through the wish list page and fulfilling a child’s simple wish! What can mentor ship do for people who need help caring for animals? Mentors are great for someone to learn. Teaching someone proper social etiquette can span through aspects of their life. When people advocate for expanding their education and when an individual implicates that education. People notice and the bar of being a role mode raises. People get inspired when they see good happening around them, and giving and donating and philanthropic work can be a fantastic quality to gain and the witness.
