Spring Pet Safety

Keep lilies and candy in check—chocolate goodies are toxic to cats and dogs, and all true lilies can be fatal if ingested by cats. And be mindful, kitties love to nibble on colorful plastic grass, which can lead to an obstructed digestive tract, severe vomiting and dehydration. Moreover, while live bunnies, chicks and other festive animals are adorable, resist the urge to buy them—these cute babies grow up fast and often require specialized care! Many pet parents welcome the breezy days of spring by opening their windows. Unfortunately, they also unknowingly put their pets at risk—especially cats, who are apt to jump or fall through unscreened windows. Be sure to install snug and sturdy screens in all of your windows. Check your pet’s collars! You should be able to fit 2-3 fingers in between the collar, and that goes for cats and dogs.

While most dogs love to feel the wind on their furry faces, allowing them to ride in the beds of pick-up trucks or stick their heads out of moving-car windows is dangerous. Flying debris and insects can cause inner ear or eye injuries and lung infections, and abrupt stops or turns can cause major injury, or worse! Pets riding in cars should always be secured in a crate or wearing a seatbelt harness designed especially for them. Spring cleaning is a time-honored tradition in many households, but be sure to keep all cleaners and chemicals out of your pets’ way! Almost all cleaning products, even all natural ones, contain chemicals that may be harmful to pets. The key to using them safely is to read and follow label directions for proper use and storage. Please check this link about poisonous cleaning products.

Sustainable Business

Simon Mainwaring and We First is all about involving everyone in when working towards solutions. We First is inspired by the global challenges we face, the social technologies we use and the human values we share. It motivates all stakeholders in a brand community to work together to build its business and to create a more equitable, sustainable and prosperous world. You just have to ask yourself “Is This Working?” If it isn’t working, you need to shift your obstacles. The collaborative mindset when you include the planet and climate in your end goals, you will grow better and be a better business. We only have a decade to reverse climate change and many other crisis that are coming our way. We must work collaboratively and work in equal focus.

We must come together and work together to create a world that is viable in the future. We must teach our younger generation to gather their information from all sources, and not just social media. Whether it was twitter or facebook, the algorithms have been becoming more and more manipulative and intuitive. Simon says we are losing our freedom of speech, and it is creating a clash within generations. Information on social media is pulling us apart instead of joining us together. We must wake up to the urgency at which we are abusing our climate and catch it and connect to fix it all before it is too late.
