Paolina Milana - Mental Health Awareness Month, and Mary Holland - Vaccine Passports #1491
Happy Monday!
Junior is still on vacation enjoying his break! But we have Amanda and we love working with her! Still, we are going to have a great show with Author Paolina Milana and Mary Holland of The Children’s Health Defense. So, stick around!
Mary Holland
The Children’s Health Defense
Mary Holland serves as President and General Counsel of Children’s Health Defense. She left the faculty of the New York University School of Law where she served for 17 years, most recently directing its Graduate Lawyering Program. Mary received her Master of Arts and Juris Doctor Degrees from Columbia University, and her undergraduate degree from Harvard. She has worked in international public and private law. Mary is the co-author of “Vaccine Epidemic” and “The HPV Vaccine on Trial: Seeking Justice for a Generation Betrayed”.
This Week With Mary Holland
A thing that The Children’s Health Defense has been doing for awhile has been a podcast about podcasts! If you want to stay abreast about vaccine information, tune in to “The Defender” to listen! The media is covering “about half the story” about vaccine passports “and it’s the wrong half,” according to Wayne Rohde, host of the “Right on Point” podcast.
Rohde interviewed Mary Holland, president and general counsel of Children’s Health Defense, about vaccine passports and their potential to infringe on basic civil liberties. Holland pointed out how Jacobson v. Massachusetts, the 100-year-old landmark Supreme Court case used to justify vaccine mandates, is being “stretched beyond recognition,” and how some of today’s Supreme Court justices are pushing back. It is wrong to Mary to have the president to tell everyone to ask to get vaccinated, especially when it is still at “emergency” level.
It is not right for anyone to bully someone else into a health decision. About half of the population has gotten at least 1 shot of the vaccine, which is proven ti be ineffective. There has never been a vaccine that has been on the market with this little testing. People are hiding how they feel about the vaccine out of fear of ridicule. CHD (Children’s Health Defense) asks that anyone who suspects they have suffered any kind of adverse side effect, from any vaccine, do all three of the following: For U.S. residents, first file your report with the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), the official site of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Go to VaxxTracker.com to file a report. This is an outside source vs. government. Using this page on the CHD website, share the information you reported to VaxxTracker and VAERS, including the reaction you suffered and the vaccine you received.
Paolina Milana
Author Of “Committed”
Paolina Milana is an author, speaker, podcaster, and founder of Madness To Magic, a coaching program helping others to find their passion and triumph from adversity. Milana’s professional background is rooted in journalism, working as a writer for a major daily newspaper before moving to the field of PR, media and digital marketing in both corporate and non-profit environments. She also serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care and as an empowerment and resiliency coach. Her first book, “The S Word”, received the National Indie Excellence Award. Her latest book, “Committed: A Memoir of Madness in The Family”, tells her story of caring for a mother and sister suffering from schizophrenia. Paolina is first-generation Sicilian, is married, and lives on the edge of the Angeles National Forest in Southern California.
Mental Health Awareness Month - Families Dealing with Mental Illness
Paolina lets the reader in, to both her heart and her mind, as she struggles to make sense of the madness all around her. This is a harrowing story told with generosity of spirit, and that is not easy to do. Paolina tried hard to not write the book, “Committed,” but eventually she mustered up the courage and began to write. She did not want to suffer in silence, nor did she want to change her own narrative. “Committed” was not only about healing herself, but helping the others around her. “Committed” is a story of resilience that teaches and inspires, not as a tidy narrative, but as an authentic and rare share that speaks to the struggle of staying sane despite being surrounded by madness. Paolina first realized there was something wrong with her mom when she was getting through her teenage years. It was all about recognizing the little things and putting the puzzle pieces together.
Paolina had an interesting point of view as a child watching her mother being diagnosed with schizophrenia. She watched her mother have exploratory brain assessments and more. It was basically a science experience unfolding before her eyes. The narrative was something that no one really wanted to be associated with. Bernadette wants everyone to know that the whole family suffers when simply one person is mentally disabled or mentally struggling. Paolina says do not say silent. The more that you stuff it down, the more that you keep it silent. Self care is super important. If you are a caregiver of someone with mental illness, follow airplane rules. Put your mask on first and then help others. You yourself needs to be operating at optimal living before you can care for someone else.
