Furry Friday with Marc Peralta - Best Friends Animal Society, Dr. Ruthann Lobos - Castor and Pollux - #1500

Happy Furry Friday!

Thanks for joining us on Furbulous Friday! Marc Peralta from Best Friends Animal Society gives us the inside scoop on the upcoming Best Friends Animal Society Conference. Dr. Ruthann Lobos of Castor & Pollux explains how to look for signs of stress in our pets in honor of Stress Awareness Month.

Marc Peralta is the Chief Program Officer for Best Friends Animal Society, a leading national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. Today he’s talking about the Best Friends Animal Society’s first-ever-all-virtual National Conference, taking place June 23 and 24. During this event, you’ll connect with animal welfare leaders from across the country, unite with like-minded animal welfare supporters and gain knowledge to save the lives of more homeless pets in your community. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Dr. RuthAnn Lobos is lead veterinarian for Merrick Pet Care, the makers of our Furry Friday sponsor, Castor & Pollux organic and responsibly-sourced pet food. Dr. Lobos is a practicing veterinarian with more than 15 years of experience in the pet food industry. She loves sharing the power of pet nutrition with colleagues, pet parents and friends.

Today she’s talking about how to help our pets with stress. Lobos says pets all show stress in different ways. Just like us, exercise is one way to keep stress to a minimum. She also gives us some great advice for when we take our pets to the vet. We’ve all been there, and our pets seem to sense when we’re going. Dr. Lobos recommends taking your pet to the vet just for a visit, so they get comfortable with the experience. Listen to the show for more advice on helping your pet under stressful situations.
