The Spiritual Daily, Protection from COVID-19, Dealing with Negative Self-Talk
The Spiritual Daily
Navee Mendoza of One Life Radio and The Spiritual Daily website is here for our dose of spirituality. We are all experiencing crazy times right now. It's easy to fall into negative self-talk and worry. Mendoza says it’s OK to not feel okay right now. Every feeling that isn’t stemmed from love is a lesson to be learned. It's important to sit with your negative feelings and know that you're where you need to be right now. Ask yourself what your feelings are trying to teach you. This allows you to understand why and move back to a place of peace and love within yourself. You can get more of The Spiritual Daily here.
Preventing the Spread of COVID-19
Dr. Steven Schwartz joins us next to discuss ways to protect ourselves from COVID-19. Dr. Schwartz is a recognized physician, researcher, inventor and entrepreneur. He was on the Regional Pandemic Preparedness Committee from 2005 to 2008, and is the founder of FluNada & Air-Vita. Bernadette asks what the difference is between COVID-19 and the flu. Dr. Schwartz tells us how COVID-19 is easier to get because it can stay in the air for up to three hours. This means it can travel through air vents and infect more people than the flu. But, we have our own defenses with our nose and throat. A virus can stay incubated in the nose and throat for days. The virus has a hard time getting through these areas to other cells. Dr. Schwartz says our first defence to begin to combat the virus is wearing masks and gloves. We should also continually wash our hands, noses and throats to keep the virus from spreading to other parts of the body. Besides protecting ourselves individually, Dr. Schwartz believes it will take worldwide testing to get a true grip of the extent of COVID-19. We must find out who is infected and who has already been infected but is no longer ill to get a true scope of the illness and how it spreads.

Combat Negative Self-Talk
And, lastly, DeWone Bennett tells us ways to combat negative self-talk. We've all done it, but we can beat or negative thoughts at their own game. Realize your part in different situations and back away when needed. Everything is not all about us. Bernadette says everyone should read "The Power of Positive Thinking" for a list of ways to combat negativity. Also, a gratitude journal is imperative to start thinking about the good in your life rather than the bad. Another great tip from Bennett is to set aside time in your day for your negative thoughts. Try and get all the negative self-talk out at the same time. Then you can move on to be more productive with our day. If they don't go away, "fake it until you make it!"Thanks to all of our listeners for tuning in to One Life Radio. Bernadette and the OLR team appreciate all of you!
